We’ve just confirmed our London pick-up - so pop it in your diaries!
Sunday 11th December, between 6pm and 10pm
@ Curzon Soho (Cinema), 99 Shaftesbury Ave, London W1D 5DY
We will have a table in the cafe area (upstairs to the left)!
This is actually the birthplace of the Route East adventure. Jonny and George spent hours planning the route and working out visas here, so it makes the perfect venue for you to pick up your games from.
For those of you unable to pick-up your game in person, we are currently working through postage options and will be providing an update as soon as possible.

Brighton Pick-up
Just a reminder that this is also now confirmed. You can pick-up your game at The Caxton Arms (36 North Gardens, Brighton BN1 3LB), on December 5th between 6pm and 10pm.
What to do if you’re picking up
Make sure your order in Backerkit is set to ‘Local Pickup’ - you can find this in the ‘Country’ dropdown.

Hey Travellers!
Wow have we got some exciting updates for you (and some dates) - so tune in!
Firstly - please check your shipping address
We’ll be locking shipping addresses VERY soon. Please double-check your address and remember to select ‘Local Pickup’ from the country dropdown if you would like to meet us in London or Brighton (details below). You can get a new link to your survey if you’ve lost the email here: https://route-east.backerkit.com/
Shipping status
Last you heard from us our beautiful games had just set sail, or were just about to. We now have confirmation that the games will arrive with us in the UK on NOVEMBER 29th. You would think a container rolls up at our door and we offload 532 boxes….right? Well no - if only it was that simple!
We’ve had to organise separate storage to our original plan, due to access for the container. We’ve also got Andrew and Steve, two chaps from the neighboring industrial unit, forklifting our 12 pallets off for us (again this is not quite as simple as you may think).
Ramble over - games will be in our possession November 29th - and then the fun begins!
Local pickup
If you’ve chosen local pickup on your order there are three options (we will confirm this within the next week hopefully)
Pick-up from London: We are just confirming the venue. Dates will be either December 10th or 11th
Pick-up from Brighton (CONFIRMED): You can pick-up your games from THE CAXTON ARMS, a 1 minute walk from Brighton station, between 5pm and 10pm on December 5th. We’ll be in the left-hand side of the pub.
Pick-up from Brixton, London: This is an additional option we’re adding into the mix. If you can’t make the official London pick-up, we’re happy to meet you at a pre-organised time in Brixton before January 15th. If you’d like this option please email us at [email protected]
World-Wide Delivery
We’re just finalising the last of our delivery prices. We’ve had orders from 25 different countries and just waiting for a few remaining prices to come in before we charge everyone (this will be done through Backerkit) - in order to try and make games arrive for backers at roughly the same time. We’ll work to get these confirmed as soon as possible - keep an eye on your emails.
Timeline
When we started this whole process we always said that we didn’t want to be one of those games that takes 2 years to be delivered. We’ve stayed true to this and all being well all of our backers will receive their games by the end of January at the very latest - well in line with our original plan!

Hey Travellers,
Guess what - Route East is just two weeks away from being rolled into a container and shipped to the UK. That puts us nicely on track for our December / January delivery!
(These are just the boxes waiting to get filled - don’t worry we won’t be sending you guys empty boxes!)
All elements of the game are now printed. It’s time now to package everything up, shrink wrap them and do the finishing touches.
We jest with the headline of this update, although with an order of 2,500 games (12 pallets in total) we’re now just finalising the details of our storage situation, which will be….needing to be rather significant!
Next steps
Right - some important updates for you.
Once we receive all games we’ll be dispatching them to our country specific hubs. At the same time, we’ll be sending out messages from Backerkit to get your updated and confirmed shipping addresses, and requesting payment for the final shipping cost (if you remember from a while back we said shipping would be charged nearer to the time - well now’s the time).
Please complete this as promptly as possible to avoid delays in receiving the game.
Local Pickup
For those of you who opted for local pick-up, we’ll be organising 4 local pickups in the UK (2 in Brighton and 2 in London).
We’re going to aim to do one session in both locations before Christmas, and one after. As soon as we have a confirmed arrival date for the games we’ll be communicating these dates to everyone - so again, keep an eye on your emails.
Route…to the Factory!

Hi our lovely backers! 👋
Another month has gone by so we thought we’d give you a quick update on how things are going!
They’re going well! In the grand scheme of things, we’re just 1 week behind on where we had planned to be. Within the next 2-3 weeks Route East should be being loaded into a container and will set sail for the UK.
The week or so delay came about mainly as we made a last-minute adjustment to our insert. When receiving the prototype we saw that there was around a 2mm space between the insert and the box edge. It was something we could live with, but since we want to get this right the first time, we worked to remove that space to avoid any sort of ‘jiggling around' inside the box.
We should be still able to hit the December/January timeline even with the delay though and we’ll keep you updated on how things go!

We also took Route East to the Strange Games festival in Brighton last month and had a blast! Thanks to everyone who took it for a spin and gave us lovely feedback ♥ We will be back next year for sure!
